Thoseprofessioheirlevel，however，withotheros，and，notwithstandingthesedisents，allthemostgenerousandliberalspiritsareeagerto.Twodiffereributetoree，thedesireofthereputationonsuperiorexyofthem;ahenaturalcewhicheverymanhasmoreorless，notonlyinhisowinhisowngoodfortune.
Toexyprofession，inwhichbutfewarriveatmediocrity，isthemostdecisivemarkofwhatisiusorsuperiortalents.Thepublicadmirationonsuguishedabilitiesmakesalartoftheirreward;agreaterorsmallerinproportionasitishigherree.Itmakesasiderablepartofthatrewardintheprofessionofphysic;astillgreaterperhapsinthatoflaw;iryandphilosophyitmakesalmostthewhole.
